St Hedwig Village is a not-for-profit organisation. The facility is well regarded for providing a high standard of care and its attractive and inviting atmosphere. The organisation is accredited under the Australian Aged Quality Standards.
Located in beautifully landscaped gardens, St Hedwig Village is approximately 2.3 kilometres south of the Blacktown CBD, hospital and railway station. Public transport is available within walking distance and on-site parking is available for visitors.
The facility is surrounded by native bushland on three sides and is like a little oasis hidden away in the middle of Blacktown. The garden areas feature pathways, shaded outdoor areas and seating which provide the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors to spend quality time outdoors and enjoy the fresh air.
St Hedwig Village has two distinct buildings through which it provides its resident care and services.
Each building has its own unique features and some services are shared between the two, for example, catering and laundry services, physiotherapy room and our link area.
The level of care that a person requires will, in most cases, determine which building and room would be most appropriate for their care needs.
If a resident’s care needs change and cannot be met in their current room it may be necessary to move a resident to another building or room. However, this is only done after careful consideration and in consultation with residents and families.
Regardless whether it is low or high care, St Hedwig Village is much more than an aged care facility. For our residents, it is home and we will work very hard to ensure that it is a family oriented environment, where residents are treated as individuals and their needs and preferences are understood and respected. We acknowledge that every person has individual physical, social, spiritual and quality of life needs.
